Te Maharanui is a Kaiako at Te Wharekura o Manaia, and is a cultural practitioner in the dissemination of mātauranga to rangatahi. Te Maharanui is a surfer and will use his knowledge and expertise to teach taiohi about the ocean winds, currents, swells, waves, tides, bathymetry and the impact of weather patterns, climate and moon phases.
