Korohere is a recognised tohunga for Pare Hauraki whānui. He is the founder of Te Whare Tāhuhu Kōrero o Hauraki, is a renowned practitioner of mātauranga and laid down rāhui for Ngāti Tamaterā at Te Mātā/Waipatukahu and for Ngāti Pāoa at Waiheke Island. An expert on Hauraki reo and tikanga, having published the first ever PhD thesis in the Te Reo Māori at the University of Waikato, titled “Te Whare Tāhuhu Kōrero o Hauraki – Revitalisng Traditional Māori language of Hauraki”. Korohere is a graduate of Te Panekiretanga o Te Reo, an exclusive Te Reo Māori academy for experts of Te Reo, and a member of Te Mātāpunenga, who are reviving and restoring the practices of priestly experts.
